God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. -Psalm 46:1 With deep sorrow and gentle relief, the family of the late RANDY DRAKE announce his passing, on Monday, May 5, 2025 from cancer.

Randy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 47 years, Florence (née Prummel) and his sons, Scott (Roxane) and grandchildren: Logan and Gracie; son Ryan and partner Jean-Guy and Randy’s brothers, Don (Cheryl), their children Janelle, Cam and their families, Larry (Jackie), as well as numerous cousins. Florence’s extended family: John Kooiker, Harry (Arlene) Prummel, Bill (Annie) Kooiker, Matthew (Alice) Houweling, Andy (Sharon) Brandsma, Carol Prummel and Otto Prummel, as well as their families.

Randy was predeceased by his parents, Delbert and Jean Anne, and by his sister-in-law Jenny Kooiker and numerous aunts and uncles.

Randy was born June 26, 1952 at the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge, to Jean Anne (Rutledge) and Delbert Drake. Randy went to school in Picture Butte and then graduated from the Lethbridge Community College with a degree in Business Administration. Randy spent 44 years at Rogers Sugar, primarily at the Taber Sugar Factory.

Randy enjoyed many rounds of golf when the season started, most often at the Picture Butte golf course or Keho Lake. Not only did he play golf, but he watched it on TV whenever he could.

Randy was an avid gardener, and his backyard was a testament to his hard work and talent.

Most of all, Randy loved his grandchildren, Logan and Gracie, and took them to many field trips, watching their sports events, and bringing and picking them up from school.

Randy was not a man of many words, but he was kind, devoted and loved his family.

A Celebration of Randy’s life will be held at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011 – 4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Ruth Preston Schilk presiding.

Flowers are gratefully declined, but if so desired, donations may be made towards the Picture Butte Trinity United Thrift Shop.
