Lahiji, Ramin

August 28, 1966

October 3, 2025

Date of Service: October 7, 2025

RAMIN LAHIJI, much beloved husband of Beate Lahiji passed away on October 3, 2025 after a brief illness at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary.

He was the loving father of three daughters, Layla, Mia, and Olivia. He is survived by his parents Shahla and Siroos, sisters Roya and Rozita, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Ramtin.

Ramin was born on August 28, 1966 in Tehran, Iran. He described a happy childhood, the oldest of four siblings. He loved the outdoors, cars, and playing pranks. Ramin left Iran at the age of 18 and spent 2 years in Pakistan as a refugee before coming to his new home in Lethbridge, Alberta. Ramin and Beate met in 1991 and married in 1995. Being a father to his three girls became the most important part of his life and his greatest joy. Ramin was a devoted member of the Bahá’í Community of Lethbridge.

Ramin was ambitious and accomplished in his career. In his twenties, he attended the Lethbridge College where he met Beate. For many years he ran a satellite business. Looking for a change, Ramin became a student once more in 2007 at the age of 41, graduating with an Engineering Design and Drafting Technology Diploma in 2010. He would often comment that one of his regrets was that he didn’t go back to school earlier in his life. For the past 10 years Ramin was the Manager of Engineering and Public Works for the Town of Taber. He took great pride in his accomplishments; and truly loved his job as well as the people he worked with.

We are so incredibly heartbroken about Ramin leaving us so suddenly. He was kind, funny, and completely devoted to his family. He loved his Faith, travel, cooking, Survivor, and the Oilers among many other things.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825-32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 12:00 P.M.

Ramin will be laid to rest in Royal View Cemetery.
