Max was a survivor of St. Paul’s Anglican Residential school from which he was taught his trade as a carpenter. In his free time, Max would teach kids across the reserve carpentry skills. Max was also a Cattle Rancher, and an excellent horseman.

Max was an employee of Kainai Industries, to which he built a lot of houses across the communities of the Blood Tribe; mainly in the vicinity of Moses Lake.

Max was a hand drum maker and was part of the Moses Lake Singers who were champion singers in their time.

Max married the love of his life out of school in 1960 and together they created a beautiful family. Max especially enjoyed playing hand games with his family and travelling to many powwows both in Canada and the United States.

Overall, Max in his lifetime was a humble and humorous man; always ready with a joke. The family would like to apologize for anyone that was missed.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to Fort Macleod Extendicare for their care and support of our grandfather, father, brother, and friend while in their care.
