Izabella (Szmyt) Lengyel–A woman of strength and determination honed by surviving some of the most tragic circumstances that befalls womankind, she was overtaken by Alzheimer’s Disease and succumbed on Nov 18th at the age of 87. Her struggle is finally over and the unconditional love, peace and rest that so eluded her in this life is now hers in the eternal arms of the Father. She was born in Zegrze, Poland and enjoyed a childhood along the banks of the Narev River.

IRWIN MRS. SUGAR LEONA IRWIN, beloved wife of the late Mr. William James Irwin of Lethbridge, passed away at the Park Meadows Good Samaritans, in Lethbridge, on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the age of 86 years. She is survived by her neice, Heather Laverne Hovey of Okotoks, two nephews, Larry (Mary) White of Calgary, Harley (Sheila) White of Kelowna, BC , numerous cousins including Ruth (Gary) Greig of Vulcan. Sugar was predeceased by her husband William James Irwin on December 15, 1996, as well as her sister, Eleanor Reeve, her brother, Arthur Miller (Violet) White all of Calgary and nephew Gerald.

LEONA JANE MATSON passed away at peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Leona is survived by her sons, Alan (Sheila) Matson and Randy (Bonnie) Matson; daughter Ava (Doug) Matisz; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She leaves behind her sister Julie Nierenberg of Issaquah, Washington. Leona was predeceased by her parents, George and Mary Santa; four brothers, George Jr; John; Joe; and Steve Santa; and two sisters, Mary Hutchinson and Anne Gatten.

MR. LEONARD DENHOED, beloved husband of Mrs. Christine Denhoed of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the age of 71 years. Besides his wife Christine, Leonard is survived by his daughter Linda (Zach) Bird and their children Kirsten, Nickolaus, Megan and Zachary, son Ron (Peggy) and their children Spirit, Stephanie and Bettina, great granddaughter Rayven Olivia, brothers Casey (Fiona), John (Marj) and Walt (Barb), brothers-in-law Corney (Rita), Casey (Roely) and Bill (Alice), sister-in-law Gerie, numerous nieces and nephews, special friends Tim, Burt, Ralf and the family dog, Spirit as well as friends and ex co-workers at Ferrari Westwood Architects.

Len passed away suddenly with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife Joey, children Cristine (Shane), Mike (Teena), Kim (James) and Jeff (Melanie), and nine grandchildren. Len lived his life for his wife and children; he had a never ending ability to create and fix things. His quiet courage, strength of spirit, creativity, and sense of humour will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

GLORIA LEONARD passed away in Raymond, Alberta on Monday, September 28th, 2015 at the age of 85 years. Born in Saskatchewan in 1929, Gloria spent most of her life on the West Coast of British Columbia, moving to Lethbridge in 1999. She worked as an accountant, contractor of custom-built homes, and was a general entrepreneur throughout her life. Gloria was an active member of the West Side Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses until shortly before 2004, when she had to move to Columbia Assisted Living in Lethbridge.

LEONARDUS JOHANNES GOLSTEYN, beloved husband of Annie Golsteyn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the age of 87 years. Besides his loving wife, Annie, Leo is survived by his children: Betty (Jim) Thomas, Lorraine Golsteyn and Roy (Sophie) Golsteyn and by his five grandchildren: Christopher and Katie Thomas, and Quentin, Charlène and Audrey Golsteyn, all of Lethbridge. He is survived by one sister, Milia Vossen, and one sister-in-law, Triene Golsteyn.

MR. LEONARDUS STEYNEN, loving and caring husband of Hannah Steynen-Rijpstra, died early Friday morning, July 5, 2013, at St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre, after a brief illness. He was 70 years old. Leo was born in Bandoeng, Java, Indonesia (Former Netherlands, East Indes), on October 16, 1942. His family returned to the Netherlands in 1952. He was certified as a Journeyman Machinist and Draughtsman at the age of 17. After 2 years in the military, during a trip to Switzerland, he met his sweetie and future wife.

LACANILAO LEONILA SANTOS LACANILAO, passed away at 12:50 A.M. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Leonila was born on April 11, 1923 in Manila, Philippines. She passed away at Legacy Lodge. Her final days were spent surrounded by family. The family would like to thank the Legacy Lodge staff and Dr. Strank for taking care of our mom and grandmother in her last days. She was an active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and regularly volunteered at the community services of the church.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
