Dear Wendy and family. Pat and I are so sorry for your loss and extend our deepest sympathy. When Pat worked at the U of L, he met Bruce and often commented on what an extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and compassionate man he was. Wendy, you and Bruce have always been a positive influence on everyone who has had the pleasure to meet you.
May many wonderful memories help you to navigate such a deep loss.

I feel so fortunate to have made the acquaintance of Bruce and get to know him. Such a pleasant and dynamic person and always that nice smile on his face. I will miss our coffeehouse chats that we would have when we happened to bump into each other at one of them. A very well respected and well liked person that will be greatly missed.

Dear Wendy, Kasha, and Brynne,
I wanted to reach out and say thank you for Bruce.Over the past twenty years, he has had a real and lasting impact on my life and my work. I’ve taken him with me through every stage of my professional journey, and I’ll continue to carry his influence and his voice with me going forward. Thank you for sharing his time, his knowledge, and his wisdom so generously. I know how much of himself he gave to others.
Bruce was more than a mentor to me. He was a very good friend.
I still remember the first time I met him. He drew a triangle and wrote “Work” at the top, “People” on one side, and “Relationships” on the other. He said, “Every business exists to get work done. It takes people and relationships to do the work. You’re too focused on the relationships — focus on the work, and the relationships will come.” That lesson stuck with me, and I’ve carried it ever since.
There is so much more I could say, but mostly I just want you to know how grateful I am for the relationship I had with Bruce. It’s one I’ll carry with me forever.
Thank you, Bruce.
With love and sympathy,
Brand

Our sincere condolences to the family. I had the opportunity to work with and get to know Bruce on a couple of projects. I appreciated his humor and good nature but also his way of "righting the ship" in pretty straight forward terms when required. He kept us focused and on task with a laugh and I definitely learned from his approach.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Bruce, even for a short time. His mentorship, guidance, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on me. Bruce had a rare ability to speak with purpose, connect meaningfully with people at every level of an organization, and challenge others to be better each day. His leadership was grounded in respect, clarity, and a sincere desire to see others succeed.
Although our time together was brief, the lessons and perspective Bruce shared continue to shape how I view my work and leadership today. His words carried meaning, his actions reflected integrity, and his influence extended far beyond the moments we spent together. I will always be thankful for the impact he had on my growth, and his legacy will continue through the people he guided and inspired.

Bruce was not only a close friend, but an incredible mentor. My journey with him began as a student in his management accounting courses, and over time evolved into helping him mark assignments, serving as a case judge in his classes after graduation, and later sharing many coffees and lunches together. Those conversations meant so much to me. He always had a notebook close by, carefully laying out his thoughts, insights, and perspectives on business and life in a way that was both thoughtful and generous.
I can say without hesitation that I would not be where I am today, professionally, or personally, without Bruce’s mentorship, guidance, and unwavering support over the years. He challenged me, encouraged me, and believed in me, and that made a lasting difference.
You should be incredibly proud of the remarkable man he was. His loss will be forever felt, and his impact on so many lives is a true testament to who he was. I am deeply grateful to be one of the many people whose life was shaped by Bruce.
Please know you are in our thoughts during this difficult time.

Bruce has forever had an influence on my life. I was a young kinesiology student, and took an intro to business class. In that class, Bruce introduced me to a world I had never considered before, but loved. I made the decision to change majors, and went into business management. I never had the chance to tell him that, but he was the main catalyst that has now set the course for my career.

Bruce was always up for a chat and embarking his wisdom. He got me a book “the founders dilemma” that will always remind me of him and his legacy when I see that book.
I hope his family and beloved are able to find the patience and strength during these tough times. Bruce will be missed dearly.

Another good one gone - far too soon - gone from our eyes, but not from our hearts or memories. I met Bruce when he was a mischievous red-headed nine year old accordion player who had a disarming smile and drole but focused sense of humour. We maintained a periodic correspondence for over 45 years and I will miss it - and him. Our deepest and sincerest condolences to you Wendy and Kasha and Brynne and to Ron and Linda.

Dear Wendy and family,
Bruce was one of the first people I met when Paige and I moved to Lethbridge. His kindness and willingness to engage in a quick chat made me feel welcome in a new town. Knowing him over the years, and reconnecting when Wendy and I worked together, only reinforced my impression that Bruce made a good difference to the world. My sincere and heartfelt condolences.

Dear Wendy, Kasha and Brynn,
Thinking of the three of you at this time.
Bruce always had time to chat with me when I would see him at Bread, Milk and Honey. He would proudly tell me if what you girls were doing in that soft gentle voice of his. His dry sense of humor would also come forth. It always was a treat for me to see him.
