To Arlene's family- I was so saddened to learn from my sister of Arlene s passing. Although I didn't know her personally, I was privileged to see her perform with New West theatre many times. She also sang at my mom's 80th birthday (Rose Michaelis). Arlene was very talented and will be missed by so many. Peace be with all of you.

My heart goes out to Arlene’s parents, Michael and my dearest friend Michelle, for their unimaginable loss.
I remember Arlene’s talents well. She was a star that lit up the stage and her voice was a gift from God.
Sending all the love and hugs in the world at such a sad time for everyone.
As the grief eventually passes, I know the magical memories of her will be treasured in your hearts and souls forever.
With all my love,
Syl

The light in the world has lost some sparkle. Arlene was such a special friend to me, from the time I lived in Lethbridge for university and worked with New West Theatre, to the years after when I moved up north. She was the kind of friend that when you got together after years of being apart you just picked right back where you left off. So much laughter! So much joy and enthusiasm in everything she did. Arlene was always there for me, supporting me and cheering me on. My deepest condolences to her family, her friends, all of us who loved her dearly.

I can not believe what I am reading. You were a little spit fire and I can’t believe that spark is gone. But it truly isn’t because now you’re up in the sky, sparkling

Arlene and I were Weekender Managers at the same time and she became like a little sister to me. It was 25 years ago this weekend that my husband Dennis passed away and I flew Arlene to Winnipeg to sing at his funeral. I had chosen a very special song. She searched out the music, recorded it and sang along with her own recording. It meant the world to me. Arlene was truly a very special person in my life and my thoughts and prayers are with her family.

in the late 70's early 80's I used to walk to their house to visit; i was always rewarded with girl guide cookies and a glass of milk, and of course the warmest welcome. Arlene Bedster; that name has become newsworthy a couple times throughought my life. i always felt a sense of pride reading about her acomplishments. I saw her within the last couple months. i wanted to say "remember me?" i knew she didnt. now ill never get the chance to ask that question, to revisit our childhoods. goodbye arlene, i have nothing but happy memories of you.
god bless you

I met Arlene through her work at Lethbridge College - Criminal Justice Program as she was a role player for student scenarios. She was great, so believable and so dedicated to the student learning. In fact she played her part very well. Arlene introduced me to Glaxal Cream, for post radiation treatment, what a relief! So understanding and compassionate. Glad I met Arlene!

It's impossible to think of Coalhurst High school, in the mid-to-late 1980s, without picturing sweet Arlene's beautiful smile lighting up the hallways. Such a gentle, caring, loving soul. Forever our Anne of Green Gables.
